Subject: T-Minus 23 Days - Dinghy Delta Ditch!
From: George Biery

Dinghy Delta Ditch is around the bend!

That's right! Only twenty-three days until the start of the longest and longest-running dinghy race in these United States of America!

This downwind drag race begins at the picturesque riverside hamlet of Rio Vista, California.  From the start near the infamous Rio Vista Bridge (may she always raise and lower), the course follows the Sacramento River and Deepwater Channel thirty miles deep into the heart of darkness.

The race concludes at Lake Washington - at the Port of West Sacramento turning basin. There, a grand dinner, music, and awards await the stalwart adventurers.

This year we have a small number of anchoring spots reserved for larger cruising boats who would like to search out a new destination. Bring a tender or our cheerful water taxi will transport you from your boat to the party. Spend the night on the hook before your return to civilization.

Volunteer spots are now open for LWSC members. This race requires a ton of volunteer help - up to forty spots. Please sign up early and sign up often. Every additional hand makes the load lighter.

If you can't participate or volunteer, please be our guest at the party. It's time to celebrate the end of a great summer of sailing and look forward to the change in weather as we greet fall.
