LWSC hosts a summer sailboat racing series every Thursday evening from May through October. The first start is at 6:00 pm. Lasers are the primary racing fleet on Thursdays, but Sunfish, Lidos, and other boats often join in as well. Please see the Volunteering page to sign up for race committee slots.

Junior Summer Camp, 9am to 12pm, Mon - Fri
The JHPS clinics are for juniors who have two or more seasons of experience sailing and feel comfortable racing in close quarters against others. The participants work on racing skills such as tuning, starting, tactics, and advanced boat-handling in single and double-handed boats. The Racing Clinics are held on Monday and Wednesdays from 4:00 to 6:00pm. This clinic is held for nine weeks during the summer (except 4th of July week) and the clinic can be repeated as many times as desired.
Participants in this class are also encouraged to compete in LWSC and BAYS (Bay Area Youth Sailing) regattas throughout the summer. Coaching staff will travel to and provide support and coaching at away regattas.

-Drain all Sunfish and Lasers
-Check Laser rigging
-Place dock boats on correct dollies
-Check outboard oil
-Flush outboards

Tuesday nights are the perfect night for newer windsurfers who have completed a class to come out and practice their skills. Windsurfing nights run most Tuesdays from May through late summer. Experienced windsurfers will be available to help get you on the water. If there‘s enough interest, buoys will be set out for fun racing. This event may be cancelled if weather conditions are unsuitable.

LWSC's monthly member meetings are normally on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm. In-person at the clubhouse and via Zoom. Zoom details are sent out to members via email prior to the meeting.

This is a basic singlehanded sailing class that introduces anyone interested in learning to sail to the concepts of sailing, including:
- Sailing concepts
- Safety
- Boating rules of the road
- Sailing terminology
- Rigging and basic knots
- Capsize recovery
Please bring clothes that you can get wet in to each day of. The small boats that the class are taught in can capsize quite easily on windy days. Capsizing in small boats is a normal occurrence, and as part of the class, we will practice capsize recoveries so that you are familiar with how to recover the boat if you do capsize. A swim test is also part of the class - you will be asked to swim approximately 50 feet while wearing a PFD.
Items to Bring:
Closed-toe footwear you are comfortable wearing in the water. Flip Flops are not a good option!
Personal Flotation Device - LWSC has PFDs that can be used if you don‘t have your own.

Crew-U is held each regatta day from 10:00 to 1:00 and is a great way for skippers and prospective crew to connect, learn, and practice.
The first part of practice is learning about the boat and how it is rigged and operated. Then, crew take turns practicing on the water by going through maneuvers. There will also be a brief discussion about racing procedures and tactics.
